Tallybird: Add-on Charge Check — Terms of Service
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you, the merchant who installs Tallybird: Add-on Charge Check ("the app"), and Micah Diehl ("we", "us"), who provides the app. By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. Contact: support@micahdiehl.com.
1. The service
The app checks your Shopify store's orders for paid product add-ons (from product-options apps) that were selected but appear not to have been charged, and flags those orders for you with a tag, an app field on the order and a list in the app. The results are prompts for you to review. The app does not change prices, charge customers, edit or cancel orders, or contact customers. It may miss some problems or flag orders that are correct, so check flagged orders before acting on them.
2. Plan, trial and billing
- The plan costs $4.99 USD every 30 days, billed through Shopify's billing system and shown on your Shopify invoice. Taxes may apply as Shopify determines.
- New stores get a 14-day free trial.
- You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the app. Billing stops when you uninstall.
- No refunds are given for partial billing periods.
- We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice. Shopify will ask you to approve a new charge before a higher price applies.
3. Your responsibilities
- Use the app only for your own Shopify store and in line with Shopify's terms and applicable law.
- Don't try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get unauthorized access to the app or its data.
- You are responsible for decisions you make about your orders and customers, including any that use the app's results.
4. Data processing agreement
This section is the data processing agreement between you and us for the personal data the app handles on your behalf.
- Roles. You are the controller of your store's data, including your customers' personal data. We are your processor and process that data only to provide the app, as described in these terms and the Privacy Policy, and on your documented instructions (your settings and rules in the app).
- What we process and why. The data, purposes and retention periods are listed in the Privacy Policy. In short: order details needed to check add-on charges, and the order's country (used during the check and not stored). We do not request or store customer names, emails, phone numbers, street addresses or payment details.
- Retention and deletion. Checked orders, problems found and orders waiting to be checked are deleted 180 days after
they were created. When you uninstall, we delete all data stored for your store when Shopify sends the
shop/redactrequest, 48 hours after uninstall. We delete data for specific orders when Shopify sends acustomers/redactrequest. - Confidentiality. Only Micah Diehl has access to the data, and only to run, support and fix the app. We do not sell, rent or share the data, and we do not use it for advertising, analytics or any purpose other than providing the app.
- Security. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS, and TLS for database connections) and at rest (the hosting provider's encrypted database storage, including backups). Secrets such as API keys are kept in the hosting provider's environment settings, not in the app's code.
- Subprocessors. We use Render (render.com) to host the app and its database in the United States. We will tell you at least 30 days before adding or replacing a subprocessor, by email or in the app, and you may object by uninstalling the app.
- Personal data breaches. If we become aware of a breach affecting your store's data, we will notify you without undue delay and within 72 hours, with what we know about what happened, the data affected and the steps taken.
- Help with requests. We help you respond to customer requests and data protection obligations, including through
Shopify's
customers/data_requestandcustomers/redactrequests, which the app handles automatically. - End of processing. When the agreement ends (you uninstall), we stop processing your store's data and delete it as described in point 3.
5. Availability and changes to the app
We aim to keep the app running and checking orders, but we do not guarantee it will be available at all times or free of errors. We may change, improve or stop features. If we discontinue the app, we will give at least 30 days' notice where we can.
6. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the app will find every missed charge.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Ending the agreement
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if required by Shopify or by law. Sections 4 (until your data is deleted), 6, 7 and 10 continue after the agreement ends.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you at least 30 days in advance by email or in the app. If you keep using the app after the change takes effect, the new terms apply.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
